Siesta Key Oyster Bar History

It all started with some Chicago Bears fans in 2003. Having moved from Chicago to Sarasota, the bar’s co-owner was seeking a place where she could watch the Bears and, along with her sister and their husbands, decided that having her own bar was the answer. Thus, Siesta Key Oyster Bar was born.

Today, the restaurant prides itself on quality service, the freshest ingredients, a menu with appetizers, entrees, sandwiches, sides, and a Sunday brunch. Of course, Sundays during football season feature a TV tuned to the Chicago Bears game.

The Siesta Key Oyster Bar Ambiance

The atmosphere of the Siesta Key Oyster Bar is as lively as you would expect a sports bar, casual restaurant, lively pub, and beach bar to be.

Described as “the hot spot in Siesta Key Village” and boasting an ambiance that will make you “feel like you’re hanging out with good friends on your back porch,” Siesta Key Oyster Bar is all about being laid back. The “back porch” feel could be attributed to the restaurant’s large, landscaped deck/patio, while inside is a spacious bar and dining area seating 200-plus.

Casual dress is fine — no formal dress code here. Just bring your love of seafood, an appreciation for a beautiful view of the beach, and your excitement about some live music, and you will find a fine place to eat where you will return again and again.
